rugby genes (samoa)

In 2003 the Samoan team took the
rugby world cup by storm. They did this by using incredible strength and power with every little understanding of tactical plays or strategy and virtually no budget for equipment.

So how with could this small group of islands in the south pacific have strength and power that rivalled the power house of the rugby world cup England and nearly win. Its all down to life style, diet and genetics.

Samoans take three thinks serious family, food religion.

Samoans only eat food they grow or hunt themselves which means they have a greater appreciation of the food so they don't over eat like some other countries. Hunting the food also makes them stronger and hardier. Also they take part in lots of strenuous exercise such as rowing and sailing making their gene pool stronger.

So in short Samoans are good at rugby because they are strong and tough and can hit hard and get hit hard and keep going.

If you are interested in learning more about the Samoans during the 2003 world cup there is a really good documentary called pacific warrior online.
